CLASSIC ROCK PERFORMANCE IN MAYVILLE
The August 8th performance of the 2019 Entertainment in the Park Summer Performance Series will feature the classic rock duo “T J North”. Held Thursday evening, this performance will run from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and be held at a new location this year, the floating stage located behind the historic Mayville Depot across from the Lakeview Hotel, Mayville NY, courtesy of the Chautauqua Lake Pops. Members of the band are Jim Scriven on guitar and Tim Kelly on keyboards.
This talented duo performs hits from the Beatles, CCR, Chicago, to the Rolling Stones. They have performed together off and on for about five decades and have graced our Entertainment in the Park concert stage in past years. We’re glad to welcome them back this summer. Jim Scriven spends his winter months in Florida and has a duo called “J R Southern”, thus the band name “T J North”.
They enjoy playing the songs they grew up with and performed in their younger years. Rainbow the Clown (Jerry Stimson) will also be on hand to entertain the children with creative balloon sculptures and face painting.
These performances are brought to you at no charge through the sponsorship by the Village of Mayville and Town of Chautauqua. In case of inclement weather, the performance will take place at the Carlson Community Center, located at Lakeside Park in Mayville. While seating will be available for inside or outside concerts, those attending are still encouraged to bring their own seating for all performances (inside the Community Center or at the floating stage area) to make sure there’s enough seating for everyone. A 50/50 raffle will be held at the performances again this summer benefiting the chamber and its work in the community. The Mayville Fire Department will be offering popcorn and water for a donation for the benefit of their fire department. The Maple Springs Fire Department will be selling BBQ grilled meals (hamburgers, etc.), as well as other foods, at the performances, benefiting the fire department.
