Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County Board Recruitment Drive

part1.A1087B7D.46ABB5EB

Have you heard of Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County (LVCC)? Do you know what services we provide? Perhaps you have heard of, or even visited, our used book store located at 12 Park Place in Fredonia. Perhaps you have donated books there. 100% of all book store sales go directly to support the mission of LVCC.

We train volunteer tutors to help adult basic literacy and second language learners realize educational, personal or professional growth; we foster awareness of literacy services and promote the benefit of literacy to the entire community.

Our recent move to Fredonia has given us the necessary space to raise our organization to the next level. Our tutors still go to our students but now we have space available for our students to come to us. We can elevate our training to group sessions, provide more diverse study areas such as financial literacy or basic computer skills and grow our literacy mission here in Chautauqua County.

We are looking to expand our board of directors with energetic, diverse, committed community members. We need your helpful advice to rocket us into the future and accomplish our mission. If you are interested in helping us grow, please consider joining our Board of Directors. Call 716-366-4438 or e-mail lvacc@netsync.net
