JAMESTOWN, N.Y.:– The Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System (CARTS) will be holding for the first time a Fill the Bus Campaign from November 4 to December 6, 2019. The campaign is to help collect non-perishable food items that will be donated to local food banks for their holiday distributions.
“CARTS Marketing Team continues to find ways to support our community,” said Michele Westphal, Senior Project Coordinator for CARTS. “This year’s project is to help feed families. We look forward to donating the nonperishable food items to the local food banks.”
Donations can be dropped off at the CARTS Office on 234 Hopkins St. in Jamestown, N.Y. or riders can give their donations to CARTS drivers. In addition, other drop off locations will be announced throughout the campaign on the CARTS facebook page at .
Individuals who donate a food item will also receive a coupon for 50 cents off their CARTS bus fare.

“Being able to offer a discounted bus fare for a food donation is our way of furthering our support to the community just as we have been able to make our Saturday fixed city routes part of our regular service,” said Brad Bentley, Director of Public Facilities.
CARTS offers public transportation services Monday through Friday to and from various locations across Chautauqua County. It also offers Saturday City Fixed Route Service in Jamestown, Lakewood, Celoron, Falconer and Dunkirk.
