Come to the Table for CASA Calling All Table Designers!

Mayville, N.Y. (February 24, 2020) Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Chautauqua County announces its 12th Annual Come to the Table fundraiser to be held on Thursday, May 7 at The Chautauqua Suites in Mayville, NY. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the live table auction starting at 6:30 p.m. Guests will be treated to hors d’oeuvres, raffles, live entertainment, cash bar and much more. Tickets are $20 and include the chance to win a door prize. The public is invited.

This event invites talented people and businesses that support CASA of Chautauqua to design a one-of-a-kind tablescape that will be featured during the live auction. “It is going to be a thrill to see the different tables that our supporters come up with. Each year, they are so different. In year’s past, table themes have ranged from Under the Big Top, Farmhouse Weekend Breakfast, The Man Cave and even…Meat,” says Kathy Park, executive director. “These original tabletop creations help style the home for special celebrations and even liven up everyday dining.”

The public is invited to join in on the fun! We invite your organization, business or group to collaborate on a table theme for the chance to win an award in one of six categories: Best New Table Designer, Most Whimsical, Most Artistic, Most Original, Most Elegant and People’s Choice. The winner in each category takes home a certificate along with bragging rights for the whole year. This is a much-anticipated event for the entire community and a great opportunity to highlight your group or organization while supporting such a worthy cause.

Shari Jamieson’s craft room will be out of commission for the next few months while she plans her unique table design for the event. “Come to the Table has become one of those events that I Iook forward to all year round. I have already spent hours planning my design and collaborating with my sponsors on how I can create a custom design that is different from previous events,” she says. “The event is such an important fundraiser for the volunteers of CASA. These volunteers are the voice of the children. They may be the only consistent adult presence in these kids’ lives. This is a program that I truly believe in and the people involved are absolutely amazing.” Shari, with the handyman help of her husband have been supporting this fundraiser since 2015.

Tablescapes are thoroughly planned by the table designers. Some participants spend several months creating their table. New designers may access the table designer packet online at http://www.ChautauquaCASA.com. Table requirements are minimum. Themed tablescapes may include gift certificates, experiences, antiques and more. Table designer entry form is due by April 2.

Come to the Table offers many ways for local businesses and organizations to get involved while supporting CASA’s mission. Event sponsorships are available that provide exceptional public visibility and recognition during the event. “This is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year and has become our signature event. Come to the Table is more than beautifully decorated tables, it is a chance for us to come together and serve the abused and neglected children in our community,” says Kelly Fiorella, fund development coordinator. “There is a sponsorship opportunity for every business that would like to get involved.”

Tickets to the event are $20 and can be purchased from any CASA board member, at the door or presale by calling CASA.
