The Art Market opens March 7 in Village of Fredonia

Professor Ted Sharon, along with Fredonia Enactus would like to announce the grand opening of The Art Market. The Art Market is conveniently located right in the heart of downtown Fredonia at 50 West Main Street, right across the street from BJ’s. The Art Market is a new art gallery featuring not just paintings but also sculptures and music. The grand opening will be Saturday, March 7th at 50 West Main Street from 4-7.

At the grand opening there will be art, food, music, and drinks so please come down and join us. The opening exhibition will feature the works of Joe Sorci, an accomplished artist who grew up in Fredonia and found success in Nashville.   Classes, demonstrations and artist’s talks will be featured throughout the exhibit. Peter Tucker, Associate Professor of Visual Arts and New Media at SUNY Fredonia has been part of the team developing strategies to bring art into the community. Exhibits will rotate each month with upcoming exhibits featuring Artists @ heart and SUNY Fredonia Art alums.

To assist artists in getting their work documented and available for sale, Erin Ruffino will be providing photography services on site at The Art Market.   Digitized images will be able to be used for prints, cards and portfolio development.

The Art Market is part of the Main Street Studios Complex.   Main Street Studios will also be offering theatre, music and other performing arts and is the vision of Ted Sharon, full professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance. He owns Venture Productions (www.venture.productions), has developed projects funded by the NSF and NEA, and founded mindtoolsinnovations.com. The renovation of the Main Street Studios is supported by the “New York Main Street,” Homes and Community Renewal Grant.    Ted is partnering with local businesses to create an unique cafe and provide services during performance and receptions. Ted is also committed to working with students of Fredonia to offer learning experiences through internships and projects.
