City of Jamestown to hold drive-thru Easter Eggstravaganza at Allen Park
JAMESTOWN– The City of Jamestown is excited to announce a COVID safe Easter Egg celebration at Allen Park this Saturday, April 2, 2021, starting at 10 AM until candy runs out. The event will include appearances from the Easter Bunny and Tarp Skunk’s mascot, Whiffy. Volunteers will be masked and gloved and will hand out candy to families in their cars.
The Parks Departments asks that participants enter through Allendale Ave., Fairdale Ave, and Springdale Ave. off Martin Road. Traffic will be let out either through W. Virginia Blvd or Hughes St.
The event will be free of charge to the public.
Jamestown City Parks manage Dan Stone said, “We are extremely excited to be able to hold a COVID safe version of our traditional Easter Egg Hunt this year. It has been a difficult year, and we are happy that we are able to do this for the kids of Jamestown.”
The even is being sponsored by all five of the City’s Unions – JCAA/JURA, CSEA, AFSCME Local 418, JPFFA Local 137, Morton Club Beneficiary Association, JPD Kendall Club PBA, City Employees as well as by all three of the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities unions – IBEW Locals 106 and 459 and Teamsters Local 264. Also sponsoring the event are Chautauqua Signs, the NECA Labor Management Committee, the City of Jamestown and the Jamestow BPU.
